Flexcursie (14-10)

Hello dear geologists, geomorphologists and Earth and Economy students!

The GeoFLEX organizes in the weekend from 14 to 17 October, a Flex FLEXcursion to the beautiful South West of England! In these four days, we will visit some interesting excursion points in Cornwall and Devon. For example, we will look at 15 centimeters long feldspars in Haytor Rock, chevron folds in Millook Haven and Heartland Quay and we will visit the Beer Quarry Caves. We also visit the Eden Project, where researchers from different disciplines to work together to achieve a sustainable tropical and Mediterranean climate in large bubble greenhouses in an old quarry. We visit lösscliffs on the south coast and glacial valleys inland. You can find large ammonites in the ‘Ammonite graveyard “and possibly pay a visit to Stonehenge or the (lesser known) Blue Stonehenge, all for €199,-.
We will transport ourselves using 9-seater vans. The boat trip, hostels, breakfast, lunch and transportation is all arranged for you.
We hope that you all pack up your hammer, hiking boots and your smile so we can enjoy a great weekend!

Register through the registration list in the Stuka in WN-F045. Registration will close on friday 7 October.

We hope to see you then,
GeoFLEX
