Future Slags from Fossil-free Steelmaking & their Sustainable Use in Building Materials

PhD Characterization & high temperature modeling of future slags, investigation of reactivity

The steel industry will switch from fossil-fuel to green, hydrogen-based steel making which will involve electrical smelting furnaces instead of the traditional blast furnaces. The change will lead to significantly different slag by-products with consequences for the cement industry that uses steel making slags in their cements.
